Goals and Plans for 2016

  • Art Goals Life

2015 was a pretty amazing year for me, in some ways, one of the best. The photo above is from a trip I took with some friends in early July. I am showing it with a post about goals because that trip was such an eye opener for me. Three friends and myself drove to Nimpo Lake in the interior of BC where we boarded a float plane to fly into Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, pick up rented canoes and paddle the Turner Lake Chain for four days. This was one of the hardest trips I have ever taken, but one of the most rewarding. There was plenty of conversation about what we were all working on and where we were headed. What would you do with your life if you had no obstacles or no need to earn money? I would be an artist I thought to myself. Then I wondered what am I waiting for? I am not sure I want to pursue being an artist full time, but what I do know is that I want to be creative in more ways and make time for art. In the latter part of 2015 I began drawing more and taking some online classes and most importantly making time to be creative. If that Canoe trip taught be one thing, I hope it is that challenging yourself to push through difficult circumstances is always the most rewarding. So for me 2016 will about pushing myself just a little more than I normally would.
